THE HISTORY OF VAN LEER
Paul Van Leer was a native of Philadelphia and a graduate of the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. After his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Paul settled down in Arizona where he found his way into the insurance industry by establishing the Van Leer Insurance Agency in 1947. During his time as the head of the company, he served as the President of the Phoenix Association of Insurance Agents and the Arizona CPCU Agents Organization. Paul raised his family in the Arcadia area of Phoenix.
In 1975, Paul’s youngest son Charles, a Trinity College graduate, followed in his father’s footsteps by joining the agency. After 15 years of working side by side, Paul retired from the insurance agency and handed the reins over to his son. Charles has continued to grow the agency and established a strong footprint in the hospitality insurance industry during his 40+ years in the business.
Now, Charles’ daughter Kristin Edwards is the 3rd generation to carry on the family legacy. Kristin, who is a University of Arizona alum, resides in the Biltmore area and has a family of her own.

Kristin is the 3rd generation of her family to continue the legacy of this family-owned business. She is a wife, a mother of two, and she loves hiking, brunch, and traveling!

Chuck Van Leer is an AZ native. He has a 40+ year career in the insurance business. Outside of the office, he enjoys golf, deep sea fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and traveling to Mexico & Costa Rica.
